Disregard the rumors!  El Dorado Days is on!  The Advertising &  Promotion Commission did reject the application for financial support this year based on some false information:  they said it was a class reunion and closed to the public.  They said the  application lacked a detailed budget.  All of this was rebutted in a letter sent to the commission.  David Ross, Decomer Cameron and Celia Mae Jones Richard followed with letters to the editor.  This stirred some interest for a short minute.    However, as of this writing, the commission is holding steady.   But rest assured, El Dorado Days will go on with or without their support.  However, the downside is the 1976 price of $5 is history.  Admission will be $10 for the nights with the dee jay and $20 for the band.

We will be kicking off on Friday, June 29 and ending on Wednesday, July 4.  We will be at the American Legion.  Back by popular demand is Mooney Man, our dee jay.  Everyone said they enjoyed our live entertainment in 2010, Windstorm.  So, we have booked them again for the grand finale on July 4.

The picnic will be on July 4  at the Union County Recreational Complex Pavilion.  Please call 870-875-1553 to make a reservation for the picnic.  Too many plates have been ordered in the past.  Let me hear from you by June 15 if you plan to attend the picnic so I can give a better head count to the caterer.

The Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, July 1 at First St. James, across from the former WHS.
