W. C. Robinson

Willie Clifford Robinson, 71, of Inglewood, California, and formerly of El Dorado, AR died Thursday, January 14, 2010, in Inglewood.
 
He was born Feb. 20, 1938, in El Dorado, the son of William "Babe" Robinson and Letersia Johnson Robinson.  He was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School.  He served in the U.S. Marine  Corp from 1956 to 1962.  He was  past president and commander of Jackie Robinson American Legion Post No. 252.
 
He was a member of  Praises of Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a co-fonder of the  Searchers Social and Charity Corp.  He was a retired field representative for Labor Local 300 AFL/CIO.  He  was  elected  vice president and a trustee of the union.
 
He was awarded the Arkansas Traveler’s Award by Governor Bill Clinton.  He received the Laborer’s AFL/CIO award and the United Way’s Stewardship Award.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Andrea Robinson and Felicia Robinson; one sister, Jean Robinson Dillon; six brothers, Michael Robinson, John Robinson, Jerome Robinson, Nelson Clarke, Theodis Clarke and Larry Clarke; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
 
Funeral was held Monday,  January 25, in the chapel of Inglewood Park Cometary with Pastor James McKnight Officiating.  Burial was held in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood.
