Rance Olison

was extremely generous with his financial contribution.  Rance has been referred to as El Dorado’s first black philanthropist .  Rance sponsored the banquet last year to honor black educators and other employees of the former black schools in El Dorado.  The proceeds went to help Mrs. Marzell Smith with the South Arkansas African American Museum.  He organizes and contributes to the Hazel and L. C. Ross Scholarships events as well as contributing to many local churches.

Rance’s most recent passion is to honor his recently deceased mother, “Ms. Carrie”, by giving away turkeys in El Dorado during the Thanksgiving holiday.  To help in the turkey give away, El Dorado Days will make a financial contribution.  And, I am sure he would welcome other contributors.  Thank you Rance!

Claudis Allen

has been assisting with obtaining the beverages since the beginning of El Dorado Days. This year, he made a significant contribution by purchasing some of the beverages. Thank you Claudis!

Willie Dykes and Elisha Modica

provided the 2012 pictures.  Thanks guys!

Dianne Williams Embree
